THREE SPEAKERS OF XPLOR 2021

16 September 2021

Based on last year’s experience with our annual virtual event, we can assure you that you will have access to high quality content again this year. What’s more, there’s a big advantage to holding a virtual event: we’re able to welcome a great number of renowned speakers, since distance isn’t a concern. Our guest list is, as usual, full of interesting speakers and exciting topics. Here are three of them to give you a taste of what’s to come during the three days of the convention.

Alden Greenhouse

We are especially pleased to have Alden Greenhouse as a speaker this year. Mr. Greenhouse, Vice President, Corporate Development and Business Strategy for Agnico Eagle Mines, will be discussing the role of majors in investing in juniors. His talk explores the roles of major and junior companies in the exploration and financing of gold deposits, including the reasons why majors invest in juniors, the circumstances under which they do so, and what they seek to achieve with their investments. Mr. Greenhouse’s background and past experiences have provided him with a wealth of knowledge that will be put to good use during his lecture.

Marc Ducharme

Next up is Marc Ducharme, Exploration Manager at Bonterra Resources and a geologist with over 30 years of experience. He will be presenting Bonterra Resources’ project and giving a talk entitled “Developing Québec’s Next Gold Camp in the Urban-Barry Belt.” With three projects already well underway in this vast area—which spans nearly 38,000 hectares—the future of the Urban-Barry belt looks very bright. Come discover the key to the success of this gold project, considered one of the highest quality gold development projects in Canada.

Benoît Dubé

The last speaker we will introduce in this blog post is Mr. Benoît Dubé, a research scientist with the Geological Survey of Canada. His lecture, “Gold Deposits of the Abitibi Greenstone Belt, Canada,” will discuss how the nature and type of gold systems vary over time and space in response to the complex tectonic, metamorphic, magmatic, and hydrothermal evolution of the Abitibi belt. This belt has been Canada’s leading gold producing region for over a century, with a total gold content of over 300 million ounces.
